Woodward Lawson Solicitors assessed by the Scottish Legal Aid Board
Woodward Lawson Solicitors were recently assessed by the Scottish Legal Aid Board. Readers of our News Section will see that last year we were assessed in relation to our provision of services to clients in receipt of Criminal Legal Aid.
All private law firms who carry out Legal Aid work require to submit a random selection of files for assessment by experienced, independent lawyers. The latest round of assessment related to the assessment of a number of cases funded by Civil Legal Aid.
We are pleased to confirm that we once again passed the assessment with flying colours.
We were particularly delighted with the independent assessor’s comments in relation to one Mental Health case managed by Ian Woodward-Nutt.
In that instance the independent assessor was moved to comment: “Extremely impressive file, prepared by a solicitor who was clearly very familiar with Mental Health legislation. The work in the file is done to an extremely high standard.”
