Book Review – Humankind – Rutger Bregman
After 18 months where the world has changed in many remarkable ways and for once, we have had time to think about it, Rutger Bregman’s book provides a thoroughly positive outlook on humanity. Well researched and extremely readable, its theme that humans are basically good and wish to co-operate may seem naive in parts but, reassuringly, it convincingly questions a number of deeply held urban myths and redresses the balance in a world where 24 hour media and news tends to over-report the bad things in life. As we embark once more into the wider world after Covid restrictions are reduced, it is a heartening and thought-provoking read. Recommended.
